"His connections and knowledge of the area local to the club will be a great help to us in the coming years."

Meanwhile, the club has also revealed that Carol Bebee has taken on the role of events co-ordinator.

Chipchase added: "Carol has great experience in the area of fund raising events and putting on successful social events.

"We will be working closely with her to put on club events that not only appeal to speedway supporters but the local population as well as we seek to increase our visibility in the local community.

"Carol will also manage the end-of-season party for the club with our support.

"I feel these two appointments are extremely important to us and we look forward to working together in the future for the good of Mildenhall Speedway.”
