Newmarket Cricket Club's winter indoor net sessions will get under way this weekend as the club looks to expand its membership and player base.

The sessions, which will take part on the majority of Saturdays going right through until late April at the town's leisure centre on Exning Road, are available and open to players of all ages, genders and ability.

Chairman Frank Stennett said: “We are delighted to confirm our winter indoor cricket training programme for 2022 to be held at Newmarket Leisure Centre.

"We are calling on the local Newmarket people and surrounding areas to come along meet members of the club, socialise, learn some new skills and play some cricket with a welcoming and friendly group.

"With the introduction of a Saturday second team entering in the CCA Junior League Division 1 North next season we are on the lookout to increase the playing members of the club.

"We already have a Saturday men's first team and a Sunday men's team alongside a midweek T20 side, so whichever team or day suits you best we can provide the competitive cricket for you, come and give us a try."
