South African all-rounder Tony de Zorzi agrees Burwell & Exning move

Burwell & Exning have secured the services of South African all-rounder Tony de Zorzi for the 2021 Read Brothers Ltd East Anglian Premier League campaign.

The 23-year-old, who will be embarking on his first stint in England, will arrive with plenty of experience gained from playing in his homeland.

As well as captaining Cricket South Africa's Emerging squad, the opening batsman also skippered his country at the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh five years ago.

The right-arm off-spinner has been in particularly impressive form with the bat during the last 12 months, having scored his maiden double century in first-class cricket in January 2020 against Cape Cobras – a side he would later join.

De Zorzi also includes the likes of The Titans, Tshwane Spartans and Pretoria Mavericks among the list of franchises he has represented.

Burwell & Exning are set to get their league campaign under way on April 17 at home to Sawston & Babraham.
