28-year-old man arrested in Walberswick, near Southwold, and later bailed after vehicle stolen from Westleton spotted on A12 at Blythburgh
A 28-year-old man was arrested and bailed after a stolen vehicle was located.
Halesworth Police received reports of a stolen vehicle from Westleton on Tuesday, which was then spotted yesterday evening.
The driver failed to stop for police, and was eventually apprehended in Walberswick.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “Police were called around 4.20pm on Wednesday 27 March to reports of a stolen vehicle from Westleton being spotted on the A12 Northbound near Blythburgh.
“Following a failure to stop, officers arrested and later charged a 28-year-old man on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving - otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance and failure to stop.
“He has since been bailed to Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court. Suffolk Police would like to thank the public for their assistance with locating the stolen vehicle.”
The man has been bailed until May 1.
