Walberswick The Street home destroyed in fire owned by film director Richard Curtis and partner Emma Freud, Mail Online reports




A Suffolk home destroyed in an overnight blaze is owned by screenwriter and film director Richard Curtis and his partner Emma Freud, according to Mail Online.

Fifteen fire crews battled the fire, which took hold in The Street, Walberswick, at 9.53pm on Sunday.

A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said the blaze spread to the first and second floor as well as the roof cavity.

Crews left the scene at around 6am on Monday morning.

While it is not known if Richard Curtis, 65, or Emma Freud, 60, were at the house when the fire took hold, it has been confirmed that no one was injured in the blaze.

Curtis is best known for his romantic comedy films including Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Bridget Jones's Diary.

Appliances from across Suffolk, including crews from Beccles, Haverhill, Southwold and Framlingham, were called to the fire.
