A12 in Blythburgh, near Southwold, shut after serious crash




A major route in Suffolk is shut after a serious crash.

In a Suffolk Police tweet at 8.36pm, a spokesman urged motorists to avoid the A12 after the two-vehicle collision in Blythburgh.

He said emergency services were called at just before 7.30pm.

The road is closed in both directions to allow officers to conduct initial investigations into the cause.

The A12 is likely to remain shut for the foreseeable future and motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Suffolk police quoting CAD number 387 of May 25.
