Man arrested after two-vehicle crash in Thorington near Southwold




A man has been arrested following a two-vehicle crash in a Suffolk village where one female passenger was seriously injured.

Police were called at about 10.55pm on Sunday, August 27 to a collision between a grey Range Rover Evoque and a white Nissan Quashqai in Thorington near Southwold.

The driver of the Range Rover, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to provide a breath test, driving with excess drugs, possession of drugs, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

A female passenger in the Quahqai that was carrying four people, suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for treatment.

The Range Rover driver was taken to Martlesham Heath Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently released on police bail pending further enquiries until Sunday, September 24.

Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision, and are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time with a dashcam in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
