Southwold man charged with assault after another man was reportedly stabbed with pair of scissors at property in Teal Close, Reydon




A Southwold man has been charged with assault following an incident in which another man was reportedly stabbed with a pair of scissors.

The incident was at a property in Teal Close, Reydon, between 5pm and 5.43pm, on Thursday.

A man in his 20s suffered stab wounds following an altercation and was taken to hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

A second person, aged in his 40s, was left with minor injuries.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in Southwold in the early hours of February 7 and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Laurence Betts, 31, of Hotson Road, Southwold, was charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and assaulting a person occasioning actual bodily harm.

Betts appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on February 8, where he was remanded by the court to next appear at Ipswich Crown Court on March 10.
