Halesworth: Man stabbed with screwdriver in Thoroughfare Car Park after argument




A man has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed with a screwdriver after a row in a car park in a Suffolk town.

The incident happened on Wednesday, September 13 at about 2.20pm, after a man was assaulted during an argument in the Thoroughfare Car Park in Halesworth, close to Huggys Carshop and Cycle Repairs.

The victim, in his 50s, was injured with a screwdriver that caused small puncture wounds and he was taken to hospital for a precautionary check up.

A man, aged in his late 50s, was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail, to answer on Sunday, November 12.

Officers investigating are keen to speak to a woman who they understand intervened in the dispute.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident or believes they know the woman who intervened, to contact Halesworth Police, quoting crime number 37/53571/23 via the website.
