Nearly 1000 speeding offences recorded across East Suffolk in September through mobile enforcement programme
Nearly 1000 mobile safety camera speeding offences were recorded by officers in East Suffolk in September.
There were 926 incidents of speeding recorded by officers in a swathe of locations across the area.
Proactive speed enforcement only takes place in the county at locations where there is an ongoing risk of collisions, a number of fatal or serious crashes have occurred or where there have been sustained complaints from residents.
The location with the greatest number of offences was Blythburgh, near Southwold, with 179, followed by Yoxford with 139; these were the only two locations with three-figures of incidences.
Other hotspots include Lowestoft with 41, Stradbroke with 90, Reydon with 44 and Eye with 24.
Locations with only one offence recorded include Bramfield, Dennington, Fressingfield, Holton, Haxne, Kelsale Cum Carlton, Walpole and Wrentham.
It comes amidst the Suffolk Constabulary joining a nationwide campaign this week to clamp down on speeding and educate drivers of the risks.
Suffolk's Safety Camera Team operates a number of mobile enforcement vehicles, which are deployed across the county of Suffolk.
