WikiLeaks whistleblower Chelsea Manning to DJ Latitude Festival in Henham Park, near Southwold

Infamous WikLeaks whistleblower and activist Chelsea Manning will DJ at a major Suffolk festival this summer.

Latitude Festival, in Henham Park, near Southwold, has announced the former US soldier will take over The Sunrise Arena for late-night sets when it returns on July 20.

Manning hit headlines in 2010, when she released thousands of sensitive military and diplomatic documents that allegedly detailed human rights abuses.

Convicted via court-martial in 2013, she was jailed for 35 years.

She was in prison until 2017, when her sentence was commuted by Barack Obama.

Ms Manning came out as transgender during her sentence.

She recently returned to work as a DJ after a 15 year hiatus,

Ms Manning joins other late-night performers, including Belief and Peace.

Latitude has revealed a star-studded lineup, including George Ezra, Pulp, Paolo Nutini, Young Fathers and Siouxsie Sioux.

Comedians including Romesh Raganathan, Sarah Pascoe and Ed Byrne, will also appear.
