Final Walk with a Fork, at Helmingham Estate, near Stowmarket, raises funds for Ormiston Families
A charity has raised more than £6,500 with its final Walk With a Fork event on a historic Suffolk estate..
More than 300 people got stuck in on Sunday, raising £6,500 for Ormiston Families, a charity which works with children, young people and families.
The event, which has been running since 2012, saw walkers and some dogs complete a six-mile route around the Helmingham Estate, near Stowmarket.
As they made their way along the route they were treated to charcuterie, cake and drinks.
They were rewarded for their efforts with more food, drink and entertainment at the finish line, with acts such as Ella-Rose, from Bury St Edmunds, and Old Heckled Men, from Ipswich, creating a party atmosphere.
Gavin Lamb, senior events and community fundraising manager for Ormiston Families, said: “We’ve loved putting on Walk With a Fork over the years so obviously we are sad to see it go, but all good things must come to an end.
“We’re just delighted that we were able to go out with a bang and see so many people having a great time and raise money for our work.”
Ormiston Families is now working on a replacement for Walk With Fork - you can find out more about the charity here.
