Thousands of foodies flocked to Stowmarket on Sunday for a feast of local and regional flavours at the town’s annual Food and Drink Festival.

More than 70 stalls lined Ipswich Street, tempting crowds with everything from Korean corndogs and salt beef bagels to buttermilk fried chicken and homemade fudge.

The popular event — organised by Stowmarket Town Council — stretched across the high street, the John Peel Centre, Red Gables and the Food Museum, offering visitors a mix of street food, live music, shopping and family-friendly activities.

Despite a few rainy spells, Emily Clarke, community engagement and events officer for Stowmarket Town Council, said the day was full of community spirit.

She said: “It was brilliant to see so many people enjoying this year’s food and drink festival, even with a few showers — it felt like there was such a great community spirit.

“We were thrilled to have many favourite traders back and welcome some new faces too. It was fab to see people out and enjoying the delicious food and drink on offer, listening to music and enjoying the family friendly activities.”
