Fox Yard Studio in Stowmarket is exhibiting the art of those who identify as being LGBTQ+ and their allies who show support.

Sam Bell, exhibition organiser, hopes that the artwork will inspire people to fully express themselves.

She said: “We’ve had Suffolk people who identitfy as gay, bi, aromantic and non binary get in touch as well as people who have family members who they’d like to show their support too through their artwork.

“It’s been a heart warming experience hearing everyone’s stories and I hope by sharing these stories, it can help others get a little insight into some of the journeys that people go through in the Pride community.”

Sam has been very excited for Fox Yard Studio to be a part of the Pride Celebrations with the studio’s first Pride exhibition.

One of the featured artists is Jade Forbes who runs ‘Nonbinary Baps’ on Instagram. They created a window display for the studio titled ‘Pride In Our Community’.

Jade said: “I’m proud to be a part of something which increases visibility in Suffolk and celebrates the creativity and joy of the LGBTQ+ community.”

The exhibition is planning to continue the celebrations into the following month with a Pride Get Together at neighbouring bar Pallet.

Sam said: “After meeting a lot of the artists, I found that there was a common thread in most of our conversations, they wanted to meet like minded people.

“A lot of artists said how it would be lovely to meet people they can relate to and talk to about their beliefs, like the other people in this exhibition.”

“I’m hoping the get together would be a great opportunity to introduce everyone to each other and help make new connections.”

The Pride Get Together will be taking place on Thursday, July 28.
