Barnville role play area set to open at Stonham Barns Park, near Stowmarket

An outdoor play park has been opened at a leisure attraction with an early learning role-play area set to follow soon.

The new play equipment at Stonham Barns Park, near Stowmarket, includes a climbing frame with a tower, a see saw and a smaller play frame.

Next to the play park, which can be found beside the Carters of Suffolk Teapot Pottery, a beach activity area, for toddlers and younger children, has been set up.

Buckets and spades are available from the teapot pottery and chairs and tables will be added soon, so that parents can supervise their children.

A spokeswoman for Stonham Barns Park said the play area has replaced a bouncy pillow.

However there are plans in the pipeline to bring the bouncy pillow back to a new location within the leisure park.

The owners of Mamiina, a baby and children’s shop at the retail park have announced they will be opening a role play area for little ones, called Barnville.

Simona Pounds, who opened Mamiina with her partner Steve Bullman last year, said there is no confirmed opening date for the new attraction.

However the mum-of-two hopes Barnville will open its doors to families by the end of this month.

Terri Forward, of Stonham Barns Park, said: “Our mission is to be a place for locals to visit to relax and for visitors to stay and play.

“We have something for everyone and facilities like the new children’s play area should appeal to young families from the community.

“We hope people who have not visited recently will come to see what has changed. We think they will be excited by the new facilities on offer.”
