Stowmarket Christmas Fayre will bring 'cheer and happiness' to begin festive season
A Suffolk town has confirmed that a new Christmas event will begin the festive season.
Stowmarket Christmas Fayre will take place on Sunday, November 28, and will begin at 10.30am and finish at 5.30pm.
A traditional light switch on, conducted by Town Mayor, Keith Scarff, will open the festivities, with activities positioned across the town.
Christmas celebrations would not be complete without a visit from Father Christmas, who will be present at the Museum of East Anglian Life with his sleigh and reindeer.
Among the attractions will be an ice rink, merry-go-round and carol singers.
Karl Daniels, Communities and Partnerships Manager, said: “It’s been a very challenging couple of years for everyone and the Stowmarket Christmas Fayre will help bring some much needed cheer and happiness to both residents and visitors.”
To complement the Christmas Fayre, Fox Yard Studio have organised a winter art trail, which visitors can follow as they shop with town centre business.
St Peter and St Mary's Church will be hosting their own Christmas festivities. Visitors can see over 360 trees at the Christmas Tree Festival, while a craft market will take place at The Mix.
