Council chiefs are calling on residents to help name a new café and visitor centre in Needham Market.

Work is ongoing on the new space at Needham Lake, which is due to open by the end of the year, and now Mid Suffolk District Council are asking the community to decide what it should be called.

Residents and businesses can choose from the following three names: Duck and Teapot, Quacker's Café, The Swan's Nest.

Cllr Julie Flatman, Mid Suffolk District Council Cabinet Member for Communities, said: "The new café and visitor centre will be a fantastic asset for residents and visitors so it is fitting that we call upon them to help choose a name.

“Our ambition is that the new café and visitor centre will be a wonderful addition to Needham Lake, offering a welcoming place for people to relax, meet with friends and enjoy freshly made food and a hot drink while enjoying everything the area has to offer.”

The building will feature bird boxes, solar panels, sustainable drainage, an air source heat pump and will be built using sustainable building materials.

The café will offer a range of seasonal meals, snacks, drinks and ice-creams throughout the year.
