Elderly woman airlifted to hospital after being injured in fall in Crowfield, near Stowmarket – as firefighters from Ipswich, Framlingham and Needham Market attend




An elderly woman has been airlifted to hospital after a fall in a village near Stowmarket.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to Church Road, in Crowfield, at 11.34am by the East of England Ambulance Service, which was called at 9.38am.

Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and a helicopter from Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended.

Four fire crews, two from Ipswich East, one from Framlingham and another from Needham Market, also helped.

Firefighters used an aerial latter platform and a basket stretcher to assist the woman.

The woman was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for treatment.
