Little Pig Bakery will have a stall at Stowmarket Farmers’ Market, run by Heart of Suffolk Distillery and the town council




Shoppers will be able to buy cakes, flowers, bread and gin at a new farmers’ market launching in Suffolk today.

Stowmarket Farmers’ Market is set to become a monthly event in the town centre, with stallholders including: Little Pig Bakery, Field of Cheese and Walking Wok.

Molly Watling, event coordinator for Stowmarket Town Council, said: “We’re excited to introduce the much longed for farmers’ market into the town - full of fresh, locally sourced goods.

“We hope this is supported by local residents, so join us in celebrating the flavours and traditions of our region.”

The town council are running the event in collaboration with the Heart of Suffolk Distillery.

As well as stalls selling meat and fresh fruit and vegetables, the market will also feature jewellery and candle businesses.

Those visiting the market will be able to try Mad Mike’s Chilli Jam and homemade bakes from Old Family Favourites.

Ryan Luke, managing director of the Heart of Suffolk Distillery, said: “We were approached by Stowmarket Town Council following the success of our Stowupland Farmers Market’, to collaborate with bringing a farmers market to Stowmarket.

“We are very fortunate to have an abundance of great producers around Suffolk and being local to Stowmarket, we were keen to showcase this close to home.”

Stowmarket Farmers’ Market will run from 9am-3pm today (April 20) and will continue through to October, on the third Saturday of every month.

Stowupland Farmers’ market will continue to be on the first Saturday of the month.
