Stowmarket Food and Drink Festival set to return in three weeks




A town is set to become a foodie’s paradise with an upcoming festival of street food stalls, pop-up bars and sweet treats.

Stowmarket is set to come alive with flavour, music and family fun as the popular Food and Drink Festival returns on Sunday, July 6.

After last year's success, the town council’s free event will once again celebrate local and regional produce alongside fun activities for all ages to enjoy.

The live Kitchen Theatre is making a return – promising a flavour-packed day of chef demos, tastings, and culinary inspiration.

Held at the Food Museum, the stage will feature a line-up of top local chefs cooking up delicious seasonal dishes throughout the day, with visitors able to sample their creations.

Confirmed demonstrations include:

11am: Stuart Oliver, Head Chef at Kesgrave Hall, Ipswich

12pm: Pascal Canavet, Head Chef at Maison Bleue

1pm: Lee Cooper, The Auberge, Yaxley

2pm: Alan Paton

3pm: John Jackaman, Head Chef at ICE Restaurant

Visitors can also sip on a glass of Prosecco or Champagne from Field of Fizz, relax in the sandpit or browse a variety of food stalls including Wood Row Chocolate and Boo’s Barking Bakery.

Red Gables is set to host a family-friendly zone featuring more than 20 community and charity stalls, live music, a barbecue, face painting, soft play for children, games and a refreshments café.

Stalls taking part include ASD Saturday Club, Kitty Kat Rescue, Prickles Hedgehog Rescue, Stow Crafters, Suffolk Tree Warden Network, Wytchrose Endeavours and more.

The event is made possible with support from festival sponsors including Bucks Stowmarket, Stokes & Cahill, AkzoNobel and Morar Living.
