A Suffolk town is hosting two free events to entertain families with live music, food and activities.

The first is StowFiesta which is set to return on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 for two days of fun at Chilton Fields, Stowmarket.

The popular music festival will see a line up of Suffolk musicians take to the stage including Sarah Mai, Lucky No. 7, The Becconians and Soul Fusion Seven.

There will also be plenty for children to enjoy with a giant inflatable human football table, bungee trampolines, face painting, giant snakes and ladders, glitter tattoos and circus equipment.

It is being hosted by Stowmarket Town Council and organiser Billie King is looking forward to it.

She said: “We are excited to once again be kicking off this year’s events calendar with StowFiesta.

The second event to mark in your calendar is Stowmarket Carnival which is taking place in two months.

The three-day event kicks off on Friday, July 12 with a free concert from Stowmarket Concert Band at the Recreation Ground at 7.30pm.

The annual procession will take place the following day and includes nine lorry floats as well as tractor unit entries which will make its way from Needham Road at 12.30pm, passing Ipswich Street at about 1pm, to finish at the Recreation Ground.

This year, the carnival’s theme is ‘decades’ and the celebrations will conclude with a church service at 4.30pm which is being organised by the King’s Church.

Organiser Simon Burton said: “I am looking forward to being part of the procession this year as last year I had to divert my attention to The Recreation Ground, so missed the procession.

“I can't wait for everyone to come together over the three days and have a brilliant time.

“Entry is free and it's fun all weekend.”
