Fire crews and police officers called to Milton Road South, Stowmarket, blaze




Fire crews and police officers were at the scene of a town centre blaze.

The fire service was alerted to the incident in Milton Road South, Stowmarket, at 6.08pm yesterday evening.

Teams from Stowmarket, Needham Market, Bury St Edmunds, Debenham and Haverhill were dispatched to the scene.

Police officers also attended.

Andrew Bingham Funeral Service, which has a building in Milton Road South, posted on its Facebook page to say the ‘devastating fire’ severely damaged the home.

However, it reassured families that their loved ones were safe and had been moved ‘with the utmost of care’ its nearby premises.

The road was shut while the fire was dealt with.

The cause of the fire is not known.
