Further flood alerts issued for Suffolk including in Stowmarket, Needham Market, Thetford, Diss, Eye, Harleston and Bungay




More flood alerts have been issued across Suffolk following yesterday’s heavy rain.

The Environment Agency has warned that flooding is expected for The River Waveney from Diss to Bungay.

Meanwhile, flooding is possible in a number of areas across the county.

Details of the flood alerts are:

The River Waveney from Diss to Bungay

- Flooding of homes and businesses is possible today. Areas most at risk are riverside areas in Homersfield, Needham Mill, Brockdish, Scole and Diss, including the A143 at Scole and Homersfield, and the A1066 at Diss.

Little Ouse River and River Thet in Suffolk and Norfolk

- Areas most at risk are around the Little Ouse River from Rickinghall to Hockwold, including The Black Bourn, and River Thet from Attleborough to Thetford.

The Rattlesden River and River Gipping, through and including Stowmarket and Needham Market

- Areas most at risk are low lying roads and riverside areas through Stowmarket and Needham Market, including Wetherden, Rattlesden and Combs Ford.

The Rivers Deben and Lark

- Areas most at risk are low lying roads and riverside areas on the Deben from Debenham to Ufford, including Framsden, Earl Soham, Easton, Glevering and Wickham Market, and on the Rivers Lark and Finn around Witnesham, Tuddenham St Martin, Playford and Grundisburgh.

The River Waveney from Diss and the River Dove to Ellingham, including Bungay

- Areas most at risk are low lying roads and riverside areas around Diss, Eye, Harleston and Bungay.

The tidal River Waveney from Ellingham to Breydon Water

- Including Beccles Quay, Oulton Broad, Somerleyton, St Olaves, Haddiscoe and Belton.
