Stonham Barns Park near Stowmarket announce Big Weekend line up
Popular leisure and retail park has announced a free entertainment weekend of music, dance and comedy.
Stonham Barns in Stonham Aspal near Stowmarket is staging a venue wide event called The Big Weekend from Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 5.
The free community event will showcase the revamped Aspal Theatre, Legends Sports Bar and The Barn and feature what is next for the venue in 2023.
John Chapman from Stonham Barns Park said: “The Aspal Theatre will be doing Live Lounge style performances – we are mixing up contemporary pop with blues, rock and country.
“Next year we will be looking to build on this with more bands and artists to make the event an annual date in the Suffolk calendar.
“It’s going to be all the best in entertainment and activities that Stonham Barns Park has to offer – including a glimpse of the shows to come featuring exhibits from the events - as the venue shapes up to take a major role in Suffolk’s tourism landscape.”
Some of the weekend’s line up includes Jive Generation Dance, model train displays, dog show displays, Suffolk Owl Sanctuary displays, classic american and english cars, Star Wars cosplay, fishing and golfing demonstrations, artisan food outlets and historic reenactments.
Music performances include Leon O’Leary from Bury St Edmunds who has been featured on BBC Introducing and at Latitude and Billy Hunt and The Modern Classix will be doing an outdoor session on Saturday alongside The Swamp Project and Flashdance.
Sunday’s lineup features Americana singer Lauren Jennifer and there will also be performances from Murphey’s Lore and The Bo’Weevil Brothers.
The Legends Sports Bar will see acoustic sets from Nina, Marcia and Steve, The Browns, Brooke Telling, Bill Pope, John Drage, Carys and Triangle, Patrick Foster, John Campbell, Millie Berry, Bill Pipe, Inside Out, Ruby Ambrose, Paul’s Group and Painting the Silence.
