Lorry recovered after ending up on its side in accident on A140 near Eye

A road was closed in both directions for hours after a lorry ended up on its side in an accident in Suffolk yesterday evening.

Police were called to the A140 in Yaxley, near Eye, at about 8pm to reports the lorry had overturned into a ditch.

The road - between the junction of Castleton Way to the junction with the B1077 - was closed for a few hours, until about 11pm, while investigations took place and the lorry was recovered.

At the time, drivers were urged to find alternative routes.

And this morning, police thanked people for being patient if they were held up or diverted due to the accident.
