Hoxne fires: Man arrested on suspicion of arson and criminal damage after 'series of arson incidents'
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with a series of arson incidents around Hoxne.
The man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and arson not endangering life in relation to three incidents, with the most recent on Friday at Nine Oaks Farm on Green Street.
Fire crews attending the blaze found a significant fire at a derelict chicken shed a little after midnight, having been called to a fire in the same shed the previous night.
The second incident linked to the arrest took place in the very early hours of Saturday, April 17, off Low Street, near to the Swan Inn public house.
Sometime between 12.45am and 1.30am it was reported that the boundary garden hedges and fencing of a property had been set alight.
The following day, Sunday, April 18, a second arson incident was reported in the same location and took place at around the same time.
Police arrested the man on April 23 and took him to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre.
He has subsequently bailed to return to police on May 14, whilst enquires continue.
