Starbucks signs spotted in Thorney Way, Stowmarket, off Gun Cotton Way

Signs have been installed at a new Starbucks drive-thru coming to a Suffolk town.

Residents in Stowmarket spotted the new signage being put up today in Thorney Way, on land south of Gun Cotton way, near the existing McDonald’s and Costa drive-thrus.

Construction at the site began in August, and while an official opening date has yet to be confirmed, job adverts for the branch indicate it is expected to open later this month.

The new Starbucks is part of a larger development project that includes two new drive-thrus at the location.

The second unit was initially planned for a Leon restaurant but is now expected to become a KFC - however, a KFC spokesperson has said that the current construction is not related to the fast-food chain.

Plans for the drive-thru restaurants were submitted by EG Group Ltd in 2022, with Mid Suffolk District Council granting permission for two drive-thru units, an electric charging kiosk, parking, servicing, and landscaping.

Starbucks was approached for comment.
