Two national brands are set to open drive-through outlets in Stowmarket.

The EG Group Ltd wants to build two drive-through pods on land south of Gun Cotton Way/Thorney Way for a Starbucks coffee shop and Leon restaurant.

The vacant land, part of a wider site occupied by a Costa Coffee and a McDonald's, had permission for a pub but the plans have fallen through.

A planning statement, submitted to Mid Suffolk District Council by agent Walsingham Planning, said the proposals would bring the land into 'productive, economic use, generate new jobs and ensure the completion of the mixed-use development'.

The plans include 61 car parking spaces with four disabled bays and two electric vehicle charging points.

Each would also have cycle parking.
