Stowmarket Christmas Fayre hailed a 'huge success'
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Stowmarket after the town’s festive fayre proved a success.
The Stowmarket Christmas Fayre boasted an array of attractions and entertainment on Sunday, with people also enjoying the Christmas Tree Festival at St Peter and St Mary’s Church.
Highlights included festive storytelling at the John Peel Centre, Santa and his reindeer at the Museum of East Anglian Life as well as arts and crafts at Stowmarket Library.
Karl Daniels, communities and partnership manager for Stowmarket Town Council, said: “The Stowmarket Christmas Fayre was a huge success, with a constant flow of people attending throughout the day, which was great to see.
“Visitors to the Christmas Fayre were able to admire the festive lights all day long and visit various locations across the town centre.
“The market traders had a great day and hopefully the independent shops did as well.”
He added that there was a successful charity fair at the Red Gables and shoppers enjoyed picking up Christmas gifts at the arts and craft fair at The Mix.
The Regal played festive films and there was also fairground rides, live music, an ice rink and other entertainment.
The festival at St Peter and St Mary's Church features more than 360 trees and is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
