Food Museum in Stowmarket seeks public’s help with upcoming school dinners exhibition

The team at a Suffolk museum is launching a new exhibition focused on school dinners, exploring the memories and tastes of school food - and they need your help.

The Food Museum in Stowmarket is inviting the public to help bring its school meals exhibition to life by contributing items that showcase the history of school dinners through the years.

Did you work in school kitchens, or do you have items like school dinner staff uniforms, lunch boxes, menus or other related objects? If so, the museum would love to hear from you.

Whether school meals evoke fond memories or something you'd rather forget, this new exhibition, set to open in March 2025, will explore these experiences.

The team is especially looking for school dinner uniforms, school uniforms, lunch boxes, packaging from packed lunches, and other school meal-related items.

If you have any items to contribute, please contact schooldinners@foodmuseum.org.uk.
