Jubilant! Youth Arts Festival returns to Stowmarket with celebration of creativity




A wave of creativity is set to take over a town as a festival of performances and exhibitions will showcase the talents of more than 200 schoolchildren.

Stowmarket Culture Group is set to launch the fourth annual Jubilant! Youth Arts Festival on Friday with a week-long celebration of creativity running until June 20.

The free mini festival brings together students from nine schools and a home education group alongside a host of artists and organisations.

Participants have been working with creatives including Amy Wyllie, Anna Lukala, Danny Braverman, Eloise Cookson, Frankie Rose, Gillian Allard, Make Play, Snap Skool and Sian Burford-Thomas.

Final performances and displays will take place across venues including the Food Museum, Fox Yard Gallery, Modece Architects, the John Peel Centre, Stowmarket Library, The Regal and Red Gables, to transform the town into a showcase of young talent.

The participating schools include Abbot’s Hall Community Primary School, Chilton Community Primary School, Combs Ford Community Primary School, Debenham High School, Grace Cook Primary School, Home Education Group, Stowmarket High School, Wood Ley Community Primary School and Woolpit Primary Academy.

The festival launch event will take place from 12pm to 12.30pm on Friday, June 13 at Stowmarket Marketplace to celebrate the students’ hard work with a chance to tour the venues afterwards.
