Henry Street in Debenham flooded following heavy rainfall

A village road is flooded after heavy rainfall has swept across Suffolk.

Henry Street in Debenham, near Stowmarket, has flooded and it is believed eight inches of water is covering the road.

The village previously saw major flooding during Storm Babet in October 2023 when students had to be rescued after becoming trapped at Sir Robert Hitcham Primary School and Debenham High School which were surrounded by flood water.

Videos have also been shared online showing flooding in Violet Hill Road, Stowmarket, and on the industrial estate in Needham Market, near Sackers.

This follows a yellow weather warning being issued by The Met Office for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Suffolk today.
