East Anglian Air Ambulance boosted by donation from Lavenham Classic Car Show

The fruits of fundraising at Lavenham’s Classic Car Show were enjoyed this week, with a cheque presentation for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Event organiser Bruce Goddard handed over a cheque for £760 to community fundraiser Ben Walker on Tuesday, with another portion of the proceeds going towards Lavenham Community Council, which distributes funds to local causes.

The money was raised during the car show in August, which returned for the second year, replacing the former long-running Lavenham Carnival.

Mr Goddard said: “As part of the carnival, there was a car show. I’m a devout petrol head, and I thought ‘that can’t fall through’, so I decided to put on this event.

“It was much improved this year. We were slightly defeated by the rainfall, but, overall, it was a success. Weather permitting, I’m very confident we can raise considerably more next year.
