The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) charity is holding a recruitment evening in Hadleigh to encourage more volunteers to get involved.

The Suffolk fundraising team is hosting the evening in the URC community room in Hadleigh on April 30 at 7pm.

Since the charity began 15 years ago, volunteers have attended more than 16,000 missions.

As a 365-day-a-year lifesaving helicopter emergency medical service, they work across Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

A spokeswoman for the organisation said the charity could not exist without its 200 volunteers.

“As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping us to keep our two helicopters flying 365 days a year across East Anglia,” she said.

“We completely depend on our volunteers to support us in delivering our lifesaving services.

This year the East Anglian Air Ambulance is looking to recruit more volunteers across the region to help celebrate 15 years since the charity began.

EAAA will be marking the anniversary with a series of commemorative events.
