A134 Sudbury Road in Newton area blocked after van crashes into electrical pole
A busy road was blocked after a van crashed into an electrical pole.
Police, the fire service and the ambulance service were alerted to the incident on the A134 Sudbury Road, in the Newton area, at around 12.10pm after the ‘large transit van’ collided with the pole.
A police spokesperson said the road was blocked and the driver of the van had suffered minor injuries.
Two engines were sent to the scene however the van driver was not trapped. Fire crews made the scene safe and remain on the scene, a spokesperson said.
UK Power Networks has were notified.
A spokesperson for UK Power Networks said: "UK Power Networks engineers were called to the A134 near the village of Newton at about 12:19 today after a third party incident involving an electricity pole.
"To enable our engineers to safely repair the equipment, we had to temporarily interrupt power to 94 customers whose electricity was restored by 13.22."
