Cafe owner adds mobile phone repairs to menu
A cafe in Long Melford has become the first in the country to offer an in-house smartphone and tablet repair service.
Bizzi Beans Cafe owner Todd Lewis can now fix a cracked screen while customers enjoy a coffee after becoming a certified iTech technician with technology app iCracked, which launched in London last year.
Todd said he has always been interested in gadgets and technology.
“I got involved with them [iCracked] about a month ago,” he said. “I just thought it was a fantastic idea.”
He offers a mobile or in-house service for on-the-spot repairs of iPhone, iPod and iPad models, as well as select Samsung models.
As one of more than 70 iTechs across the country, Todd said he enjoys the satisfaction of being able to repair people’s devices, especially when rural locations and a lack of accessibility have proved a problem in the past for many gadget owners.
“People are just so pleased when you fix their phone,” he said. “It’s fantastic to be able to give somebody back their phone all fixed and working.”
