Centenarian celebrates landmark birthday

A centenarian in Long Melford celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday with friends and family.

Mollie Watson, who moved from north London to Glemsford in 1982, enjoyed her big day with around 30 visitors at Melford Court nursing home, where she has lived for the last two years.

Mrs Watson, who has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, spent the day with her family, including sons Graham and Malcolm. Graham put his mother’s secret to a long life down to luck.
