Committee set to decide plans for People’s Park
Plans for the redevelopment of People’s Park in Sudbury will move into the next stage tomorrow (Wednesday) when detailed designs go before councillors.
The proposal for 100 homes on Harp Close Meadow, known as People’s Park, was granted outline planning permission in January 2013.
Now Babergh District Council’s planning committee is due to decide on the finer details, including appearance, layout, scale and the potential impact of residential amenity.
The 4.5-hectare site had been owned by the NHS and earmarked for a hospital but, with construction of the new health centre, these plans were abandoned.
Earlier this year, Sudbury Town Council supported the detailed plans but raised concerns over the protection of boundary hedgerows from Hares Walk to Alder Way and along Acton Lane and Waldingfield Road.
