Owners of the White Horse in Sudbury take over the Swan in Long Melford
The new owners of a village watering hole will offer billiards and good cask ale as they look to bring a traditional feel back to the pub.
Gary and Ashley Addison, who also own the White Horse in Sudbury, picked up the keys for the Swan in Long Melford on Wednesday and hope to open their doors to customers in the coming weeks.
The couple want the Swan to have strong links to the community in Long Melford and will be serving a menu of quality pub fayre.
Ashley said her and Gary are ‘very old-school’ and are keen for the pub to be traditional. They hope to introduce a billiards table and set up a local team.
In the future they hope to be able to offer live entertainment and quiz nights.
At the end of last year Greene King announced it had found a new landlord for the Swan.
The previous tenants announced they would be vacating the pub at the beginning of 2023.
Updates about the opening will be posted on social media in the coming weeks.
During the Covid lockdown Gary and Ashley were recognised with a CAMRA award for their delivery and collection food service.
