Entrepreneurs launch Covid Cleaning and Compliance in Lavenham to help firms return to work from coronavirus lockdown
An investment banker has joined forces with a cleaning business manager to create a company capable of helping firms return to work.
Jonathan Hill said the ‘entrepreneur spirit’ of his friend Margaret Ball led to him investing in Covid Cleaning and Compliance Ltd.
The Lavenham-based business launched last month and is offering industry and government specification cleaning to companies, churches, venues and halls.
Mr Hall said: “I was impressed with Margaret’s entrepreneur spirit and had a plan for a start-up business.
“We thought this would be a good time for the investment.”
The pair both live in Lavenham, but the service will extend out to parts of Suffolk, Norfolk, and Essex.
The business has a specialist liability insurance policy, which has been drawn up by banks in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis.
Mr Hall said the cleaning is possible with proper sanitation and a ‘fogging’ method, allowing them to make deeper cleans.
Once Covid Cleaning and Compliance is finished, customers will be given a certificate.
“The first day the website went live we had a number of calls,” said Mr Hall. “We had a good web designer in Aaron Strudwick. It became about fitting people in.”
Starting off with one van, the business is now looking to expand.
This week, the business received the good news that the well-known Lavenham restaurant Number Ten had hired Covid Cleaning & Compliance to help with their reopening process.
