Firefighters work to rescue horse trapped in ditch in Sudbury's Brundon Lane




A horse which had become trapped in a ditch in Sudbury is being rescued by firefighters this morning.

Emergency crews were called to Brundon Lane at about 7.35am to reports the animal had got stuck in the ditch.

A spokesman said the crews are in the process of cutting away part of the bank to prepare to remove the horse.

And the horse, which has been seen by a vet, has been sedated while the rescue is underway.

Two fire crews from Sudbury and two from Bury St Edmunds have been sent to the scene.
