Inquests open into deaths of Great Waldingfield suspected double murder victims Jillu and Louise Nash as court hears friend dialled 999 with concerns

A mother and daughter were found dead in a suspected double murder after a friend called 999 with concerns for their welfare, an inquest has heard.

Jillu and Louise Nash, 44 and 12, were discovered in their home in Great Waldingfield's Heath Estate, which they shared with Jillu's husband, after emergency services were called on the morning of September 8.

A man, 46, was found with serious injuries at the address. He was arrested by police on suspicion of the murders and, as of yesterday, remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Today, inquests into both of their deaths were opened at Suffolk Coroner's Court.

The court heard police arrived at the property shortly after 10am but retreated after noticing a strong smell of gas and waited for fire crews to arrive to make the area safe.

Upon entering the home, Jillu, who moved to the UK from India, and Louise, who had 'severe' learning difficulties, were pronounced dead.

Coroner Nigel Parsley adjourned the inquests while the criminal investigation takes place.
