Sudbury Fun Run set for return from Covid hiatus this Easter to celebrate 40th anniversary

Sudbury’s signature community fundraising run will celebrate its 40th anniversary this Easter, as it returns three years after its last event.

After missing out in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Sudbury Fun Run makes its long-awaited return on Good Friday, raising money for the British Heart Foundation and the town’s Storehouse foodbank.

Setting off from Station Road and finishing at Belle Vue Park, the five-mile route will encompass parts of Sudbury and Great Cornard.

The event, which was set up in 1982, has been renamed this year in honour of Bob French, former president, treasurer and long-time member of Sudbury Joggers, which organises the run.

A total of 600 runners will take part, with less than 200 places remaining for those who wish to take part.
