Perrywood garden centre teams up with Sudbury Salvation Army to spread Christmas cheer with plant donations
A Sudbury garden centre has joined forces with a community charity to spread some festive cheer to deserving individuals.
Perrywood Sudbury launched its annual Christmas Cheer campaign this month, donating indoor planted containers to people in need for a pick-me-up, including two women recovering from bad falls.
Volunteers from the Sudbury branch of the Salvation Army helped to deliver the plants.
Lieutenant Rachel Hepburn, leader of the Sudbury Salvation Army, said: “It was wonderful to partner with Perrywood Sudbury with their mission to bring some Christmas cheer.
“Surprising people with these beautiful planters, seeing those smiles, and reminding them that they are valued and loved this Christmas was a real privilege.”
Debbie Wrigley, Perrywood communications manager, added: “We are delighted to support the local community with our Christmas Cheer campaign.
“We recognise that for some people, Christmas can be a difficult time. We are so pleased this has bought joy and happiness to the recipients and thank the Salvation Army in Sudbury for making this possible.”
