Glemsford artist auctioning off painting depicting poignant events of coronavirus pandemic in aid of front-line medical workers
A Glemsford artist hopes to raise vital funds for front-line medical workers by auctioning off an oil painting which depicts poignant events from the coronavirus outbreak.
Mel Pinnock, of Long Pastures, was inspired to create the bold artwork to support the efforts of the NHS during the crisis.
“I was so saddened by the loss of life and the devastation of so many aspects of our living, my idea of commemorating this time in a portrait seemed appropriate, especially as it’s linked to a charitable event,” said the 72-year-old, who will be donating all proceeds to the NHS Charities Together.
“I’m hoping the painting will raise important funds for the NHS to recognise all the keyworkers and heroes who have put their lives on the line to help others.”
The project took more than 200 hours to complete.
