Hadleigh schoolgirl's poster wins top prize in litter awareness competition

A Hadleigh schoolgirl has received the top prize in an annual poster design competition aimed at promoting litter awareness among children in Babergh.

Imogen, of St Mary’s Church of England Primary School, received a certificate from Elisabeth Malvisi, cabinet member for the environment at Babergh District Council, while her school was gifted a frog litter bin in recognition of her winning design.

The artwork will now appear on one of the authority’s waste collection vehicles over the next year, to help spread the word about the environmental impact of littering, and the knock-on effects.

Cllr Malvisi said: "The pupils’ positivity and talent for this competition is inspiring and they’ve really understood the important message we’re trying to promote.

"It’s always difficult to choose a winner, but Imogen’s design captured the message best, which is why I felt it deserved to win."
