Hundreds of Sudbury homes without electricity this morning after power cut

Hundreds of homes in a Suffolk town were without power this morning after a power cut.

An unexpected outage took place in Sudbury, at around 8.44am, with the outage extending from Grundisburgh House in the south to the A131 roundabout in the north, near the High Bank Riding School, according to UK Power Networks (UKPN)

The power cut was unexplained, due to a high voltage overhead electricity line fault.

Engineers arrived on site at around 9.20am, and a notice stated that the original blackout could have affected 1522 homes.

The cut was down to a high voltage overhead electricity line fault.

Power has now been restored.
