It’s a pizza fun for pupils
Pupils at St Gregory Primary School in Sudbury completed a “27 ways to make the world a better place” challenge in aid of Comic Relief.
The two-day challenge marked the 27th anniversary of Comic Relief – a charity which uses donations to fight poverty across the globe.
As one of the challenges, Year 5 pupils made healthy five-a-day pizzas and gave them away outside Pizza Express in Sudbury.
Pupils came up with a wide range of ideas, including caring for the elderly, tree planting and litter picking, which they carried out last week while collecting sponsorship money.
A group of Year 6 pupils will be going to London on March 13 to present the school’s fundraising total and appear in comedian Mark Watson’s 27-hour marathon stand-up show.
Acting headteacher Daniel Woodrow, who was keen to get the school involved, said the charitable challenge had brought out the best in the children.
