Lorries carrying 15 tonnes of hay in Calves Lane, Stoke-by-Nayland, ‘well alight’




Two lorries carrying hay bales are ‘well alight’ in a village.

The fire service were alerted to the blaze in Calves Lane, Stoke-by-Nayland, between Sudbury and Hadleigh, at 12.14pm.

A spokesperson for the fire service said the vehicles are ‘well alight’ and the entirety of the hay is on fire.

Four engines have been sent to the scene, with firefighters using hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.

A water bowser is also at the scene.

Police have been made aware.

Crews continue to fight the blaze.
