Man who died in Cavendish, near Sudbury, after car fire named in national media as Edwin Williams
A man in his 70s who died following a car fire in Cavendish has been named in national media as Edwin Williams - a retired Met Police chief.
The Mail Online has said it was Mr Williams who was found to have died inside a grey Hyundai IX35 estate yesterday morning.
Suffolk Constabulary has not confirmed the identity of the driver and the death has not yet been logged online by Suffolk Coroners’ Court.
Last night’s Mail Online report said Mr Williams ‘has several legal disputes’ with neighbours and lived alone.
Police closed a road next to the Village Green for several hours while cars next to the Hyundai were also damaged.
Police have said any witnesses should call 101 and quote CAD 64 or click here.
